The Sluice Boxes overlook is approximately 13 miles South on Highway 89 of Belt, Montana. Peering over the 200+ ft cliff side into the Sluice Boxes Canyon helps aid the information boards available. Just below the turn off is a great acces point int othe State Park, where you can enjoy all kinds of activities such as fishing, hiking, photograghy, floating, swimming and much more. 

Explorers have always been drawn Sluice Boxes. Miners, geologist, photographers, cave hunters, fishermen and just regular people too looking for fun! The high cliff walls, the rushing waters of Belt Creek below, wildlife and the geology make this place truly mysterious and exciting! As you wonder through the area, the trail often takes you across the creek, up and down hills and past old mining operations and millions of years of exposed geology.
