Roadside Historic and Scenic Spots
While traveling through the Little Belt Mountains there are several roadside signs with the rich history as well as beautiful vantage points that are great places to stretch your legs and take in the local scenery. The Little Belt Mountains are "island" mountains, separated from the main Rocky Mountains and also bordering the Great Plains. Many of these historic places have very extreme vantage points that are near highways 89, 87 and 12. These were often the first mountains settlers encountered while heading west, and this area has history dating back as far as the early 1800's.
